LEGO® Technic — that you build for real. And to prove this is more than just a slogan, LEGO Technic team decided to build a car. But not just any car. Our one would be a true 1:1 copy of the magnificent Bugatti Chiron, built from LEGO Technic elements. And if though that wasn’t enough, LEGO team also wanted the car – for the first time ever – to actually drive and be powered by the same Power Functions motor technology.

Bugatti Chiron originated within the LEGO Technic design team. Designer Aurelien Rouffiange and the team had just completed the 1:8 scale model of the Chiron and began to debate what the ultimate challenge for the LEGO Technic building system would be. A full-size, self-propelled vehicle seemed to provide the toughest test.

If you want to build large-scale models in LEGO® elements, then the place to go is the LEGO facility in Kladno in the Czech Republic. These LEGO designers specialize in creating complex models for LEGO stores and LEGOLAND® parks around the world. If anyone could make this idea a reality, it was them. They quickly put together a core team of 16 specialists, including design, mechanical and electrical experts, and used over 13,000 man hours creating the car piece by piece.

It’s one thing to dream of creating a 1:1 drivable Bugatti Chiron in LEGO Technic, it’s another to make it actually happen. Months of development and testing came to a head in June on the Ehra Lessien test track outside Wolfsburg, Germany – the same track where the original Bugatti Chiron was tested. Bugatti’s official test driver and former Le Mans winner, Andy Wallace, agreed to test drive the Technic version of the Chiron on its first drive.

And now about the model 1:8. LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron.
Bugatti sports cars and LEGO® building bricks may seem like two very different things, but they share a common design feature: to be the very best. When the opportunity for collaboration became possible, both teams worked passionately and precisely to perfect the ultimate supercar model: LEGO Technic 42083 Bugatti Chiron.

Art, form, and technique course through the Bugatti brand DNA. See it recreated from every angle in this model’s French racing blue exterior, curved signature line, single beam tail light, horseshoe grill with logo, and more.

Enginge:
Interpreting the Bugatti Chiron’s W16 engine led to the design team producing the most sophisticated LEGO Technic engine yet. It features 16 cylinders – each one fully moveable thanks to two crankshafts. The gearbox is equally as complex, with eight fully functioning gears.

Interior:
The dashboard, speedometer, iconic center line, and flat-bottom steering wheel are just a few of the interior details that speak to the luxury and craftsmanship of the real Bugatti Chiron. The car’s curvaceous seats are also realistically recreated, through a series of panel, beam, and tile elements.

In this model used 3599 elements.

If you wanna buy this model — go to Amazon. $350 and this Bugatti Chiron is yours :)
