The director of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ acquired Treville in 1969. Together with Renzo Mongiardino, a renowned 20th-century Italian designer and his collaborator on theatre and film projects, he refreshed the interiors, which were distinguished by monastic simplicity. Mother-of-pearl furniture, large mirrors, light shades, and decor brought from all over the world created a festive dolce vita atmosphere, ideal for villa guests such as Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Rudolf Nureyev, Richard Burton, Gregory Peck, Coco Chanel, Maria Callas, and others.

Today’s owners have preserved the summer retreat’s spirit, promising luxurious hospitality from the very first moments.
