Ferrarelle’s Renaissance

Ferrarelle's Renaissance in Soft Drinks

In the bustling realm of design, it’s not often one pauses to admire a can of soft drink, we take things for granted. However, AUGE Design’s recent packaging design work for Ferrarelle may very well compel a double-take. Soft drinks have indeed undergone an elegant transformation – a metamorphosis if you will.

Ferrarelle, an emblematic Italian brand with roots steeped deep in 1893, has always been synonymous with effervescent excellence. Originating from the mineral-rich springs of Riardo, Campania, this brand is a toast to Italian tradition. Tasked with a rather significant challenge, AUGE Design was handed the mantle to encapsulate over a century of heritage into a 250ml aluminum can.

Diving into their design toolkit, AUGE didn’t shy away from bold strokes. The pièce de résistance? A flamboyant oversized logo, unabashedly claiming the front can, reminding consumers of the iconic stature of Ferrarelle. The distinguished hues for lemonade, orangeade, and soda aren’t just colors – they’re narratives, each unfolding a chapter of Ferrarelle’s storied journey.

But, in the world of design, it’s the subtle nuances that often scream the loudest. The decision to let a sliver of the can remain untouched, in its raw, silver glory, was nothing short of genius. Paired with a petite typographic seal, it’s a nod to the premium lineage of the product. It speaks without saying, “Yes, we’re luxurious.”

This can isn’t just a container; it’s a canvas. AUGE’s typographic compositions whisper tales of Italian craftsmanship, the brand’s vigor, and above all, the unparalleled quality of the elixir it holds within. In a world teeming with fleeting design trends, AUGE Design has perhaps crafted a timeless icon for Ferrarelle. One that stands as a testament not just to the brand’s rich history but to the timeless art of minimalist, evocative design.

Here’s raising a can to the team – Davide Mosconi, Giovanni Stillittano, Alessandro Rovatti, and Gabriel Cellini. Saluti to a design well-concocted!
